5 Things You Can Do During this NDP Long Weekend
Happy birthday Singapore! And Selamat Hari Raya!
The much anticipated and celebrated long weekend is finally here! If you had decided to stay in Singapore these 4 days, we have shortlisted 5 interesting events that you can consider to check out. There’s also a bonus item we've included at the end of the list too, so be sure to finish scrolling ;)
1. Catch the fireworks display
No tickets to the NDP Parade? No worries. Grab your picnic mat and food and head over to either Marina Barrage or Gardens by the Bay, East. These two picnic spots offer a lovely unobstructed view of the beautiful fireworks. It is going to be lovely picnicking with your friends and loved ones and ending the night with spectacular fireworks parade, which we heard is going to be an extended one this year!
2. Sentosa GrillFest
For the foodies, you will be over-the-moon to know that the Sentosa GrillFest is back with its longest edition ever with more than 130 choices of food and beverage! From now till 12 Aug’19, expect an abundance of grilled meats, fresh seafood, and local delights such as satay grilled over a big open fire. We heard that there is even going to be grilled durian too. Not sure how that will taste, but do leave a comment if you had tried it and how was it. There are also roaming performances throughout the night, so it is definitely going to be a belly satisfying night.
3. Our SG, Our Celebration Music Festival
Gardens by the Bay is hosting a 2-day power-packed music festival featuring celebrated local artistes such as Kit Chan, Dick Lee, Jasmine Sokko, and Aisyah Aziz. Adding to this power-pack strength is also the Queen of Comedy, Kumar, who will be performing his trademark standup comedies. There is also an array of family-friendly activities happening, and food trucks to keep everyone happy and contented. And it’s all free! We love it.
Keep your hands up in the air with our AGVA Milano 8” Shoulder Satchel as you groove to your favourite local music.
4. AIA Family Fest
What caught our attention here is the Spartan Kids obstacle course at this family carnival organised by AIA. It will be really cute to see how their little minds and bodies work as they come face to face with physical challenges. There are also fun family-friendly activities such as art and craft workshop and an outdoor movie marathon after sunset. Perfect for a nice bonding day out with your family.
Keep your child’s change of clothes and other barangs in our trusty and roomy AGVA Traveller Daypack, designed with multiple compartments to enable you to organise your items efficiently.
5. [AR]T at Apple
Starting 10 August, the Apple stores at Jewel and Orchard will be hosting free Augmented Reality (AR) lab sessions for those who wish to learn more about AR and create their own AR experiences. Taught by Sarah Rothberg, an artist who also teaches at NYU, the class is a 90-minute session, and runs till end August 2019. Visitors to the stores can also interact with Chicago artist Nick Cave's AR art piece Amass by using the [AR]T viewer app.
We are already imagining how we can use AR to create bag designs that are effective in helping you to get organised to enhance productivity!
